Stop Press – Missing sock found

I know at least one person who had difficulty sleeping after reading my post about my missing sock!! Honestly I don’t think their issue related to my missing sock – I believe they were ruminating about all the items they had misplaced/lost. Nonetheless…

Good news – a second missing sock has now been found.

Opening my underwear drawer, for once mindful of my actions, before me was a sock.. looking up at me- “Here I am…..Did you miss me?”

No, I an not crazy, yet – I am imagining what the sock would say if it could talk, laughing at myself!!.

There is a idiom, in Afrikaans, which translates loosely to – if it was a snake you would have already been dead. Thankfully it was a sock.

Is my post inane? I hope not but if you are not enjoying it please stop reading – there are a myriad of other things you could be doing. I will not be offended – we all have choices. In fact, thankfully we now have more choices in Melbourne. Yippee.

Dealing with minor issues

Ok so what is my purpose in writing this post? Well, first and foremost to laugh!. Did I breathe a sigh of relief upon finding the sock – oh dear no, probably side-tracked again. Did I scold myself, beat myself up cognitively – “I am stupid, what an idiot, I should have looked in the draw earlier”. What for? It is what it is! Ok I found my sock, now it’s time to move on.

I am not suggesting that this tenet be applied to everything that occurs, however, most minor issues can stay inconsequential and unimportant. Sometimes however, something minor can ‘tip us over the edge’ for a variety of reasons (future post). If this occurs please seek professional help – we all need support.

It is certainly not my intention to replace counselling/therapy with my posts. They are an adjunct

The sun is shining and I am about to embark into the wide blue yonder…..destination currently unknown.

Take care, stay safe, remember that smiling and laughter are good for all of us.
